After student teaching at Mountain View in May 2023, she was hired as a kindergarten teacher there, where she now creates engaging, memorable learning experiences for her students.

Erie High School student, Valencia Thomas, earned her student pilot license from the Federal Aviation Administration while still in high school and combined her love of flight with a strong foundation in engineering through Erie's Academy of Engineering and Aerospace. The program's challenging courses in aerospace design, robotics, and creative problem-solving have deepened her understanding of how innovation and aviation work hand in hand. "It was during that time when I realized all the things that were possible," she shares. "I wouldn't have found my true potential without the opportunities given to me."
